Poster First Draft

For the first drafting of my poster, I have experimented with a variety of colours that I can distribute across my production pieces to decide which one has a greater effect on my target audience that I am aiming my trailer at. In this lesson today, I have produced the credit blocking for my poster and worked on the fonts that I want to use across my production pieces to create an overall house style for my horror film production work. This colour scheme that I have chosen is very blue, and it means that I am straying away from the codes and conventions of the genre and the posters always being associated with red as I want to have a generic aspect to my poster, besides the imagery used. I have decided on the layout, I want to keep to the layout I have displayed above, but I am going to have my imagery either of a fire blending into a photograph of the ornament that is featured in the trailer. Or alternatively feature a heavily edited image of a hand again reaching for the ornament as it is a common feature that I again want to have featured throughout.
